Energy saving and remote control for public lighting of Brescia
Since 2007, the city government of Brescia has approved an important plan to improve the efficiency of public lighting systems, appointing the project to A2A, municipal entity stock exchange traded and controlled by the cities of Milan, Bergamo and Brescia.
In addition to the total elimination of few mercury lamps, A2A has focused on the dimming during off-peak traffic hours and on timing of switch on and off.
From 2008 to 2012 over 200 power controllers have been installed, series SEC STP and SEC STPi, all equipped with remote parameters control systems, astronomical clock and a range of accessory devices to have a total control remote of installations.
The project, which got a pay-back of 3 years, has posted 25% energy saving along with a longer life of the lamps.
A2A also equipped its facilities with a modern remote control system, installing Maestro software in its central offices in Brescia.
