Adoption of centralized luminous flux regulators for public lighting in the most important cities
In high-traffic road sections, such as the Lodi ring road, the safety aspect comes to the fore and the provision of a good lighting system greatly contributes to increasing the level of safety and facilitating management and maintenance.
It is well known, in fact, the inconvenience that every ordinary maintenance operation causes to normal traffic on important arteries. Being able to limit the number of these interventions is certainly an advantage both for the managing body and for the common road user.
To overcome these problems, a "point-to-point" remote management system was adopted in the new ring road of the Municipality of Lodi (managed by Anas), which connects the city center to the Milan / Bologna motorway. light. This nerve center includes a series of interchanges, an underpass and a tunnel.
The total installed power amounts to 210 kW divided as follows by light sources:
418 pole-mounted luminaires with HPS lamps (high pressure sodium vapor) 250 W;
60 pole-mounted luminaires with HPS 400 W lamps;
128 fixtures equipped with fluorescent lamps installed along the sidewalks of the tunnel;
114 pole-mounted luminaires with 250 W HPS lamps for permanent tunnel lighting;
114 pole-mounted luminaires with HPS 400 W lamps for tunnel reinforcement lighting.
All 834 light points installed along the road layout (including those of the tunnels) are equipped with the LPC module capable of receiving and transmitting a series of information on the electrical quantities relating to the single light point through conveyed wave technology.
Anas has installed six power reducers: 3 of 22 kVA and 3 of 25 kVA.
The equipment is placed in a metal cabinet, with an IP31 degree of protection, inside a concrete cabin.
The system adopted makes centralized control and rational programming of all maintenance interventions possible: a significant advantage to make work more efficient and economical but, at the same time, to guarantee road users the best conditions of visibility, in every condition, for the entire service time of the plant.
