Lower consumption, greater control: the public lighting revolution in Foggia
Foggia is the capital of the province of the same name in the Apulia region, located in the heart of the Tavoliere delle Puglie, one of the largest and most fertile plains in Italy. It is known for its historic agricultural vocation, but not everyone knows that “the granary of Italy” has embarked on an equally ambitious and important journey on another front: that of energy transition.
The installation of 206 three-phase remote control kits in the municipality of Foggia represented a fundamental step in the modernisation and sustainability of the area. Thanks to our DIMmy-Web remote management module, it has been possible to introduce an intelligent public lighting management system, capable of optimising energy consumption and significantly reducing both environmental impact and light pollution.
A key element of the project is the presence of internal astronomical clock, which allows the lighting switch-on and switch-off times to be adjusted automatically and remotely, with the possibility of setting customised advances and delays. This allows for even more efficient and flexible management of the service, further contributing to energy savings and reduced operating costs.
Furthermore, the installed infrastructure is designed for point-to-point management of the lighting fixtures, offering the possibility, if desired, to independently control and adjust each individual light point.
With this project, Foggia is taking a concrete step towards energy transition and becoming an increasingly smart city, where innovation, sustainability and quality of life go hand in hand.
