Innovation at the Service of the Territory: Bastida Pancarana Adopts TALQ
From the heart of the Oltrepò Pavese, a miniature smart city – Bastida Pancarana (PV) Bastida Pancarana is a small Lombard town of approximately 950 inhabitants, located in the province of Pavia, in the heart of the Oltrepò Pavese. This village reflects centuries of history and resilience, preserving the charm of the Po Valley countryside and the rural traditions that still characterize community life today. In recent years, the village has embarked on an innovative path towards energy transition and sustainability, demonstrating how even small towns can be protagonists of change. Among the significant interventions, the introduction of point-to-point radio frequency remote control for public lighting stands out: a technology that allows for more efficient network management, reducing consumption and improving service quality. Specifically, the system adopted covers 189 light points, each equipped with its own module. The field installation included a single concentrator gateway, which uses the TALQ communication protocol, an international standard for smart cities, ensuring interoperability between platforms and devices from different manufacturers. The 189 nodes are LPR-Zhaga IP66 modules, bidirectional radio frequency devices capable of monitoring the proper functioning of LED lighting points in real time. These modules enable remote measurement, remote diagnosis, and remote control (on/off) of individual devices, ensuring an additional level of efficiency and reliability. Control is via the DALI 2.0 protocol to the single lighting fixture driver, ensuring compatibility with the most advanced smart lighting standards.
