Al Maryah Island: towards innovative energy transition with Revetec's help
Al Maryah Island lies to the north of Abu Dhabi as a major hub of innovation and beauty. This island, formerly mainly known for its spectacular skyline and modern architecture, has recently embarked on a path towards energy efficiency through the implementation of remote control systems in its tunnels.
The challenge was to transform tunnel lighting into a more efficient and environmentally friendly system without compromising safety and lighting quality. Revetec, a leader in remote control systems, was the key to tackling the project.
Revetec provided point-to-point powerline remote control systems in about 15 tunnels, three of which were also equipped with reinforcement lighting controlled by a debilitating veil luminance sensor. This sensor is like an advanced camera that captures images at the tunnel entrance. Precise measurements are taken on these photos to calculate the veil debilitating luminance, allowing intelligent adjustment of the lighting at the tunnel entrance. Importantly, the debilitating luminance sensor strictly complies with the UNI 11095 standard and is certified by the National Institute of Metrological Research (I.N.Ri.M), guaranteeing maximum accuracy and reliability in measurements.
This partnership between Al Maryah Island and Revetec demonstrates how innovation and a focus on energy efficiency can improve quality of life, reduce environmental impact and contribute to a sustainable future. The road to energy efficiency is open and illuminated by a new light, just like the tunnels of this beautiful island in the Persian Gulf.
