Adaptive lighting: combining FAI with dynamic lighting near Cesena (FC)
In a small village in the province of Forlì - Cesena, a project with FAI (Full Adaptive Installation) adaptive lighting alongside dynamic lighting has been completed.
This was made possible by installing a radio frequency point-to-point telecontrol gateway connected in serial to the LTM/R module and the LPBM/R module. In particular, the Revetec LTM sensor was placed on a road with vehicular traffic, while a few LPB/R modules and presence sensors were placed on the cycle/pedestrian path that runs alongside the road. The luminaires were equipped with 56 Zhaga-type radio frequency remote control nodes.
The LTM sensor, which allows adaptive FAI dimming based on luminance, traffic, and weather data, communicates with the LTM/R module on board the switchboard to provide dimming commands to the Zhaga modules via radio waves. Similarly, on the cycle/pedestrian path, some presence sensors send dimming commands to the LPBM/R module in the switchboard, via the LPB/R modules on the pole. In this way, when pedestrians or cyclists pass, the remote control nodes on the luminaires receive the full light command.
This system is very innovative, as it provides great benefits in terms of energy consumption and safety both on roads with vehicular traffic and on cycle and pedestrian routes. The benefits, as well as the opinion of citizens, can be visualised via the MaestroWeb cloud application.
