Province of Bergamo: two important radio remote control projects

The Province of Bergamo has promoted the FABER (Funding Action in Bergamo for Emission Reduction) project since 2020 with the mission of energy upgrading public lighting systems.

Revetec participated in the FABER project by dividing it into two internal projects. In the first, it involved 34 municipalities in the province of Bergamo, installing devices for remote control of switchboard parameters in about 325 switchboards and equipping 2.671 lighting points with point-to-point radio frequency remote control. In the second project, on the other hand, road and tunnel lighting systems around Bergamo were made more efficient by installing about 108 devices for remote control of switchboards and about 1.367 radio-frequency remote control nodes on lighting luminaires.

The DIMmyWeb modules inside the switchboards allow the system to be switched on and off via the built-in astronomical clock, as well as transmitting the status of the circuit breakers and any forcing on the line. The luminaires were equipped with radio frequency remote control nodes, Zhaga or LPR-04 type, which receive commands from the LPM gateway inside the switchboards and the LPM/R radio transmitter.

Monitoring of the devices in the field is made available by Maestro software. In the case of the 34 municipalities, Revetec also offered a dedicated trouble ticketing service to report faults at each lighting point. The exact location of the latter, together with the pole number, was made possible thanks to the census APP which allows data to be entered manually or via QR code on the Maestro software.
