THE DIADEME LIFE PROJECT WON THE EUSEW AWARD IN THE INNOVATION CATEGORY, being the favourite of a jury of experts.
At the Large Test Sites in Rome, Piacenza and Rimini, 32 LTMs were installed to measure traffic, road luminance and weather conditions, as well as 962 DIADEME Standard Devices to measure luminance, traffic flow data communication via Radio Mesh and Conveying Waves, temperature, air pressure and ambient noise. 49 Air Quality Sensors, built using low-cost electrochemical sensors, measure levels of NO2, O3, CO, NO, humidity, temperature and air pressure. For greater control, the data collected from the lighting points are compared and evaluated with reference to the LTM computer vision.
After months of technical improvements in the field, measurements and use of the installed equipment, the results were not long in coming: the energy savings and consequent reduction of CO2 of the DIADEME System, compared to the pre-programmed systems, reach 40.6%, rising to 57% compared to the Full Light. These reductions appear even more significant because they were obtained on systems recently upgraded with LED lamps.
