UNDERPASS FLOOD WARNING SYSTEM
Real-time monitoring and reporting in the event of flooding of road or pedestrian underpasses
The underpass monitoring system allows toestablish the presence of water through the piezometric probe positioned on two levels which, once exceeded the attention and alarm levels, activates the alarm and communication systems.
The piezometric sensor is based on a silicon-resistive piezo-sensitive element that converts the hydrostatic pressure into an electrical signal corresponding to the hydrometric level.
For greater measurement accuracy, the signal emitted by the sensor is compensated in temperature and statically in pressure by means of a pneumatic tube that connects it to the atmosphere, integrated in the connecting cable.
The sensor can be fixed on a vertical wall, on an inclined wall or on the bottom and is normally inserted into a tube for its protection.
The reports are sent directly via SMS, email or social network to the managers (local police commander, mayor, etc.).
In addition to sending the alarm, a signal is automatically activated on the variable message panel in the underpass that signals the flooding and communicates the closure of the road. As an alternative to the variable message panel, other alarm and safety systems (traffic lights, sirens, bars, etc.) may be activated.
Thanks to the integrated modem, the management of the system is possible through web application that, in addition to monitoring the system, allows the programming of alarm thresholds (at least a pre-alarm and an alarm).
The alarms, in addition to being sent automatically, are displayed and stored on the Maestro web software. This allows monitoring through a single software dedicated to the smart city.
