Integrating a GPS module into remote control nodes can be a winning solution, as it makes the system commissioning process faster and more efficient.

The position provided by the GPS module integrated into the remote control node can depend on various factors: the position of the satellite it locks onto, signal reflections caused by objects surrounding the luminaires, and whether the remote control node is located indoors or outdoors in relation to the luminaire.

To address this variation in the values provided by the GPS module, Revetec has recently developed a new algorithm which, based on a sample of measurements, is able to determine the position of the luminaire with excellent accuracy. 

The accuracy is very high for remote control nodes installed externally to the luminaire; for internal nodes, it may be reduced, but it still allows each luminaire to be distinguished. 

This technology helps to overcome the difficulties that may be encountered during the inventory phase, making commissioning more streamlined and accurate.
